Compact plant design for 2 MW of renewable power
The Bio Enterprise Biogas Plant, located near the village of Saramzalino in Lozovo Municipality, North Macedonia, is one of the most advanced renewable energy projects in the country. Commissioned in 2022, the facility represents a significant investment in sustainable energy production and modern waste management.
The facility processes around 50,000 tons of agricultural and farming residues annually, converting them into renewable energy through efficient anaerobic digestion. Despite its compactconfiguration with only one primary digester and one post-digester, the plant reliably supplies biogas to a 2 MW CHP system.
With an estimated annual electricity production of 17.8 GWh, the facility supplies renewable power to approximately 4,000 households, contributing significantly to the regional energy supply. Saramzalino is an impressive example of powerful energy generation with a streamlined plant design based on the anaerobic digestion technology from Agraferm.
