AD plant for farmers, compatible with nature reserve demands

The agricultural biogas plant built by Agraferm is supplied with feedstock by the cooperative or rather its affiliated farmers.

The plant concept is comprises of 3 tanks. The two-stage digestion takes place in a digester with a concrete ceiling made of precast segments and a post digester with double membrane gas storage. The liquid digestate is stored in a tank covered by a floating cover.

High demands were made with regard to safety and environmental compatibility, because the AD plant is located on the edge of a nature reserve (Oasi del Quadrone) and the intend in the long run is to make a visit to the AD Plant part of guided tours to the reserve.
